Sophia Rosenthal (b.1996) lives and works in London

She is a current MA Fine Art student at City & Guilds of London Art School 2023/24

STATEMENT

My work explores themes of belonging. Often prompted by transient moments in film and photograph, I rework and compose images to conjure feelings of memory/remembering. I continue to have a keen interest in ideas surrounding time and the perception of time, experienced individually, privately, sensitively. My paintings shift between dreamlike and the bodily (felt sensations) to form new proto-memories.
