Constellation to Appease, 2019
by Otobong Nkanga with A Long Distance Collective
on the Opening Night of From Where I Stand
Performing with artist, Otobong Nkanga and the Cornish Bards, Delia and Dave, for the opening of her exhibition,
From Where I Stand, at Tate St Ives.
In offering to Yemoja, A Long Distance Collective (Sanni Pyhanniska, Emma Tweedie and myself) together with Otobong Nkanga, carried her sculptures in procession to the shores of Porthmeor beach. We performed to the sea, singing a Cornish song ”An Lavar Koth”, which was led by the Cornish Bards. We continued the journey, into the gallery space for the opening of the private view.
